The new DBC (Dynamic Balance Control) tiltable drive unit provides additional stability during loading. The existing mass is used here, instead of relying on ballast and increasing the weight of the vehicle. This system is unique, and already patented.
The Mega receives its power from the powerful OM 926 LA 325 HP Mercedes Benz 6-cylinder in-line engine with turbocharger and charge air cooler. Used with Ad-Blue, it complies with EURO 3B exhaust standard. The fully-automatic engine management system provides optimum diesel consumption at an engine speed of 1250 to max. 1700 rpm. The hydrostatic propulsion via a three-stage distributor gearbox in combination with permanent four-wheel drive and switched differential locks ensures safe working in the field. The steered front axle, also controlled via the multifunction lever, reduces the amount of manoeuvring required on the headland. Road transport is via an automotive drive mode activated by the foot pedal. In order to ensure the most efficient use of the Mega, it is necessary to be able to move the machine quickly, and so, in addition to the optional 32 km/h version, an optional approval for road use at 40 km/h can also be selected.
With the large contact area provided by the 4 equally-sized 710/75 R 34 radial tyres, combined with a low machine weight of 23.8 t, the Mega exerts reduced pressure on the ground, thereby enabling fields to be traversed with minimum impact. The four-wheel drive with a turning circle of only 7.96 m is also an important feature.
The movement of the soil with return movement and even distribution of the cleaned soil, with simultaneous optimum conveying of the crop and low energy consumption under all conditions, the V-shaped intake of the Mega is extremely reliable. In practice, this means a more efficient use of the machine, with optimum operational and economic efficiency.
